The Student must be of African-American decent. Every entry that will be considered shall have a completed application form. Qualified students will have a minimum cumulative non-weighted GPA of 3.00 and is in 12th grade graduating in Spring 2008.

Each application shall include a copy of an official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay. Letters may not be written by family members. Essay which does not exceed two pages in length. Essay must be typed, double-spaced and in 12-point font. Applications with essays exceeding two pages will not be considered.

Scholarships will be awarded at the 19th African American Achievement Awards Ceremony on May 18, 2008. All those receiving scholarships are expected to attend. If you have additional questions please contact Delta Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha at scholarship@akadpo.org
